Pet Spooktacular!

Saturday was Alta Johns Creek's first annual Pet Spooktacular! What a fun day we had! It was filled with pets, costumes, tricks and treats! Thank you for all who came out to join us! Congratulations to our "trick" winner, Charlie! What a well-trained dog he is!

Congratulations also to our 1st place costume winner, Oreo, aka Spiderdog!

Spiderdog, spiderdog...he certainly is quite the treat hog! :)
If you have a pet, please stop by the leasing office and pick up some of the extra treats and coupons for $25 off your first veterniary visit at Four Paws Animal Hospital! Thank you, Dr. Rob for coming out and supporting us!

Our second wave of competitors! How cute are those pups?!
Happy Halloween, everyone!!

Halloween Potluck and Costume Party

On Wednesday October 26, Alta Johns Creek hosted our monthly potluck dinner. We made this one a little more special by combining it with our Halloween bash! Many of our residents dressed in costume and brought chili fixins' and really enjoyed dancing and listening to music. With over 70 people attending, we went through 7 crockpots of chili! That sure is a lot of chili!

We had so much fun seeing all of the creative costumes as well. One of our residents, who is 82 years old, dressed up for the first time in her life. We just couldn't believe that she had never dressed up before, but we sure were glad she decided to this year! Two of our residents also slow danced together for the first time as a couple. They actually met here at Alta Johns Creek!

Our lovely costume contest participants! Looking good, ladies!!

Our first place winner!

Everyone loves dancing with Rene!

Seriously, we ate how much chili?!

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated! It was a really great event and we were amazed at the awesome turnout! We love getting our residents together and letting them get to know one another. We hope to see you at the next Alta Johns Creek event!

Bocce Ball, Beautiful Weather and Best Friends at Alta Johns Creek!

Probably one of my favorite things about this community is how our residents come together on their own. When you pass someone in the hallway of the clubhouse or the breezeways of the buildings or while you're walking your dog, there always seems to be a friendly face, a warm hello and hug or a wave! What could be better than living in a place where you truly feel like your neighbors care about you?

With the beautiful weather this past weekend, some of our residents decided to get together an impromptu game of Bocce Ball! Luckily Salina was on hand to capture the fun of a sunny, clear day with good friends!

It's almost like living in a real-life version of "Cheers!"

Don't you want to live where everybody knows your name? And they're always glad you came?

You can, if you live at Alta Johns Creek! Call us today to find out our rent specials! We're filling up fast, so don't wait too long!

Happy Birthday, October Residents!

Every month at Alta Johns Creek, we celebrate our residents who have a birthday that month by having an ice cream social in the clubhouse!

Our residents love our ice cream socials!
This month was extra special because our event was catered by TCBY! We had delicious vanilla and white chocolate mousse soft-serve ice cream and a yummy variety of toppings such as cheesecake, oreo and cookie dough!

Don't these toppings look yummy?!

Thanks for all your hard work, Virginia!

Happy Birthday, October Residents! We're so happy we get to celebrate you and can't wait to make more memories together!
Happy Bithday, Miss Betsy!

Welcome, Earl!

As the leaves change color, big changes are happening here at Alta Johns Creek! As many of you have no doubt noticed, we've had a lot of staffing changes over the past few months. We are happy to announce that the final piece of our puzzle has arrived!

Welcome to the team, Earl!

We would like for you all to welcome our new Maintenance Supervisor, Earl Smith!

Earl has worked in maintenance for over 24 years and has been a valued employee of Riverstone Residential Group for 2 years. He has two beautiful daughters who he is so proud of. His hobbies include watching and playing all kinds of sports, cooking and attending Powder Springs Church.

Earl wants everyone to know that he is here to help in any way possible, so don't be afraid to ask!

We are so thrilled and excited to have Earl join our team! Between Rene and Earl, there is nothing our maintenance team cannot handle! Welcome, Earl!! We hope you are as happy here as we are to have you!

Alta Johns Creek's very own Super Heroes!
(And please, don't be afraid to fatten Earl up! We've heard he really likes cookies!)

Movies on the Green!

Wednesday night marked a very special event here at Alta Johns Creek! We hosted our very first (and certainly not our last) Movie Night on the Green!

We set up tables and chairs, served hot dogs, popcorn and various snacks and had a mini dance party before the movie got started. A huge "Thank You" to our wonderful residents who helped us grill all the hot dogs and helped get things set up! We couldn't have done it without you!

Special Thanks to our Grill-Master, Sal!

Our awesome residents grilling and assembling all the hot dogs!

Dancing on the lawn!

Good friends and good food!

Such an awesome turnout!

After the dinner and music was over, we heard a word from the evening's sponsors, Gentiva Home Health and Hospice. They were kind enough to come out and help us put on this awesome event and give us a little information about what they do.
Just a few of the goodies Gentiva brought for us!

Gentiva is a unique company that focuses on keeping you independent for as long as possible.

From the Gentiva website:
"Our home healthcare services can help you rehabilitate from medical events like stroke or surgery. We can also help you manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD or arthritis. Simply put, home healthcare from Gentiva helps you recover, remain at home, and live your life to it's fullest."

Most of Gentiva's services are covered by your Medicare Part A benefits and will have no cost to you! Make sure you check them out and see if they've got something that's right for you! http://www.gentiva.com/

After a brief presentation from Susan and Nikki from Gentiva, it finally got dark enough for us to show our movie! We showed the blockbuster hit "Something Borrowed" starring Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin.
Rene and Sal, clean-up crew, set-up crew and all around good guys!

Look at that spread! Yum!

Our awesome Activities Coordinator, Virginia and Miss Ida!

We're so happy with the awesome turnout for this event and we definitely plan to do more next year! Thanks to everyone who stayed and helped clean up! Let us know if you have any suggestions for future movies! We had such a great time and we hope you did too!
